Types of Hypertension

Secondary hypertension is basically a symptom of kidney, liver and heart disease. For the treatment of this kind, use of antihypertensive drugs are advisable. According to recent study, more than 35 percent of alcoholics suffer from alcohol-induced type hypertension. Women are more prone to this condition. Consuming too much caffeine is also a reason responsible for this type.
Isolated systolic type makes it presence felt in people over the age of 50. Use of diuretics is recommended for this condition. During pregnancy, plenty of women start to suffer from hypertension. The condition fades away within ten to fifteen days following delivery.
There are lots of prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications that can lead to hypertension. It includes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and weight loss supplements. Prescription medications such as cortocosteroids and immunosuppressive can cause high blood pressure. When suffering from malignant hypertension, there is a strong possibility that your blood pressure level can become quite high. Some of the common symptoms of this type are blurred vision, chest pain and shortness of breath.
